After searching extensively for a well designed antenna mounting bracket for my amateur (Ham) radio antenna, I came across a great mount at Right Channel Radios. It is the most discreet and easy to Hood Mount I have ever seen for my 2003 Chevy Tahoe. The fit and location are perfect! After finding the mounting bracket, I had thought I may have to modify the opening from 3/8" to 3/4" to accept an NMO antenna mount. However, I emailed Right Channel Radios and received a prompt reply from Pat Haggerty, who not only answered questions about my needs, but provided an option for an NMO coax cable which would fit the Hood Mount perfectly. I ordered them both and have just finished the installation. I couldn't be more pleased with the way it turned out.
Excellent fitting, well made stainless steel mounting bracket and parts and a high quality NMO coax cable made for a great mount for my antenna. I would highly recommend Right Channel Radios!
Great service and fast shipping
Love the new Cobra 29 LTD Classic. First time to use it I talked to a guy in Maine and I was at the Texas gulf coast using only 4 watts. Pat was awesome answering all kinds of questions.
Having worked for a heavy equipment company I was put to task with getting all of our CB's working PROPERLY. The customer service and available equipment at Right Channel Radios was just what I needed. I had never installed a CB system before and knew very little about them. One of the guys at RCR stayed on the phone with me and helped me completely diagnose as well as teach me why he was having me check things and what to look for, and made sure I was dialed in before we hung up.
Since then I have installed a system on my truck with the knowledge I gained from my previous experience with RCR and used the tutorials on their website to help me when I was getting stuck. The order process was simple, they had kits for many vehicles, but I opted for a more custom setup. My parts arrived within a few days and I was talking to people the next day.
Thanks RCR for your 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 customer service and support. You guys killed it!
I just purchased the Stryker SR-A10 antenna, and it went together exactly as I was hoping!! Just enough Coaxial Cable to reach from the magnet mount to my CB.
I have tuned it through the SWR meter on my radio, but I still want to tune it with my external SWR meter, just in case. With my radio, I got a reading of just under 1.5. The only issue that I am having, is, I can hear CBer's with no issues, but NO ONE wants to reply back, and I am guessing that the ones I am hearing have a base station and cannot hear me, because they live beyond the range of my antenna, or NO ONE on I-90 uses a CB (truckers, etc). UGH, very frustrating!!! I live near I-90 (within a few miles) and the Pilot/Flying J/Exon truck stop/gas station on Hwy 287. Now, yes, we live behind a bunch of hills at our home where I was testing it from, but I am receiving a better signal than I had previously with my old antenna.
From my pictures, if anyone notices anything that may work better, please don't hesitate to reply.
In the picture's below, I highly recommend Right Channel Radios!!!!
Thank you, Pat for all of the help you gave me,
Jay
