Product Highlights

  • Everything you need to set up your CB antenna on the edge of your car trunk - no drilling required
  • Kit comes with a mount and 18' of FireRing coax cable
  • Recommended for antennas up to 3' tall

Description

The Firestik trunk-lip kit allows you to mount a CB antenna on the edge of a car trunk, usually between the trunk deck and the rear window. There's no drilling required, because the mount clamps to the trunk edge when you tighten the two set screws. The rear side of the bracket has support feet with rubber bumpers to protect the vehicle finish. The mount comes with a lug-style antenna stud and an Allen wrench to tighten the screws, plus 18' of Firestik FireRing coax cable. Recommended for antennas up to 3' tall.

Specs

Model / SKU: Firestik MK-748R

Recommended for: Mounting fiberglass antennas up to 3' tall on a vehicle's trunk lip.

Compatible with: All fiberglass and center-load antennas that use a standard 3/8" x 24 threaded base.

Installation Notes:

Important Note:The PL-259 connector (radio screw-on end) is supplied in this kit, but is NOT installed on the coax cable. This allows you to route the cable into the vehicle through a smaller (0.375") hole. After placing the connector on the coax, you must solder the center to the PL connector. The trunk-lip bracket slides over trunk edge, normally between the trunk deck and the rear window. Two set screws are tightened from the underside to hold the bracket in place. The gap between the movable and unmovable areas (trunk deck and vehicle body) needs to be about 0.100" (3mm) to accommodate the mount. The underside requires about 0.5" (13mm) to accommodate the bottom of the bracket with set screws. While these measurements are provided for reference, this mount is nearly universal and should fit almost all vehicle trunks.
